Sacrifice
A reflection of your incredible soul,
That goes beyond caring and giving of yourself,
From stretchmarks in the mother's womb to battle scars in soldiers,
Lies the devotion of this propitious gift called Sacrifice.
To rewrite our fate with hope and laughter,
When the world is in a drunken abyss of self-pity and depression,
And to embrace your dreams than the words of the living dead,
In itself, self-sacrifice is sacred enough.
With faith, our souls are cherished with the holy flames,
And the darkness sinks when the light brightens.
With the most divine contemplation, we submit ourself to the Holy good,
For salvation comes with the sacrifice of pure mind.
From turning freedom into responsibility and compromising desires for the good of the other,
The promise is made and vows declared for a dream to build and a life to share,
And by pledging to cherish every moment from that day in the world and the next,
An ordeal of marriage is built with the sacrifice of a hundred little things.
Nothing can destroy or take away the endless and unselfish love of a mother,
'Cause she herself is the epitome of sacrifice, suffice, love and care.
Through long days, late nights and untamed nausea and aches,
She gave up her sleek and slender frame to see her greatest creation.
Through unending support, wise and gentle advise,
He turned from a perfect daddy to the daughter's hero.
Bearing the scorns of life with never a whimper of pain,
Toiling and striving through the day he sacrificed his needs for the ones who at home awaits.
Neither rich nor poor, but with the same madness,
A group of strangers turned into each other's trustworthy best friends,
Holding each other's back at the time of need and defending them during trouble,
They sacrificed their time to lighten up the spirits.
Honoured would be those who paid the ultimate price on behalf of their motherland,
Even when the bravest of them fell like the comet thrust from the skies,
It's not about the number of missions served or the bullets dodged,
For every ounce of blood spilt shares stories of sacrifices made to treasure the nation's freedom.
A restless roar of pain in our heart as the other lie in their deathbed,
And thousands of memories from youth to old age rushing amidst the burning sensation,
In blood, we feel the bitterness and woe to let go and yet we do,
For true love knows no bounds.
Through many changing years and autumn fading hours,
With courage stern and grim, and broad smiles,
We weathered life's storms with unsinkable strength,
Without realising that we silently sacrifice something or the other for the ones we love.
Such a beautiful poem.... Amazing written.
